<HTML>[www.performancecoatings.dupont.com]

this is a very good educational guide to paint defects , you have to register to see this information, takes about 24 hours , they actually call you to verify your information and ask a quick few questions , why you want to use the site, occupation etc.

Once your registered it does have a whole pile of good information , such as a paint defects manual which in their own words says

"Flawless paintwork is always the result of craftsmanship and years of experience. Despite proceeding with the greatest care, things can still go wrong.

The information contained in this Paint Defects Manual is meant to help you recognize particular paint problems as well as their causes and how to avoid them. "

<HTML>Also at

[PPG.com].

Just go into the Auto Refinish area and you'll get more information than on most sites. It's as good as the Dupont site.

No registration necessary.</HTML>

<HTML>One weird paint defect that I experienced at the Toyota dealership was what looked like paint creasing in the clear coat. The way we removed it was with a heat gun.

Anyone ever experience this in new cars?</HTML>

<HTML>Just read another threat on Detail City's forum and someone had hazing under the clear. He used heat to remove it. Pretty neat trick I picked up at the Toyota dealership.</HTML>
