<HTML>Currently using a C/B product. It is a one step cleaner and conditioner. Not sure of the name. This is one of those subjests that I really don't know what it is that I don't know. I woukd have put the same stuff on Kings leather as I do any other truck.
Leather, to me, is tricky stuff. Hard to really clean and even harder to get soft. I could use some suggestions here myself.</HTML>

<HTML>Phil, at our Ford dealership we got a lot of F150/250/350 trade in's with leather seats, and they are usually construction or farm vehicles , and the leather is usually very dirty.

The leather used in automobiles is called 'protected leather' . That is, analine leather that is dyed or painted with color and then sprayed with a protective oating, that is porous so you can apply a conditioner that will penetrate into the analine leather. Over cleaning will damage this protective coating and leave light colored spots on the leather.

We have used both CarBrites Leather cleaner, CarBrites leather reconditioner, and Malocs Leather & Plastic cleaner, and Malcos Leather Conditioner. I have never used the one step product that cleans and conditions so I will reserve making comment on those.

I take a clean MicroFiber cloth and spray the cleaner on to the cloth, have found that the MF cloth really gets deep in to the creases and stitching . Then apply the conditioner as per manufactureres instructions.

I have seen people use a brush with the cleaner to remove heavy dirt , and also the dye in the leather so avoid that if you can.

As for ink stains on leather , there are ink removes you can buy from several different places that I have heard work very well, but havent tried one myself.

The F150 King Ranch is the only vehicle I have seen with the leather that looks like it is untreated , but having read S.A.B's post , they are "full grained tanned leather" (thanks S.A.B!) so you wont get too mnay of those .

Hope this helps you out a bit, I have posted an image below but it's not very clear, but this how you can make a difference with the right cleaner, this pic taken before the conditioner was applied.

<HTML>Speaking of leather, a few months ago I went to do a Ferrari Mondial for one of my accounts and the former detailer sprayed vinyl dye on the leather. Little did I know (or not know) he did this. So I went to clean the leather and the dye was actaully being removed. This looked like crap. But after an hour of a thorough cleaning and conditioning, the leather looked brand new.

Just how lazy are people getting where you have to spray dye leather instead of cleaning it?

Any thought?</HTML>

Take care,

<HTML>Hey Joe, sorry it took me a while to get back to you on this, have never cleaned one of these before so had to do a bit of research on it . Apparently these seats are " Medium Graphite cloth with textured leather Ebony accents". From what I understand the Graphite cloth looks remarkably like suede and this puts people off of cleaning it . I'll check at work again tomorrow and see waht I cna find out, these trucks are only sold through Ford "SVT " dealers from what I am told , there is one that I can call tomorrow and see waht they say .

<HTML>Jim, Thank you very much for looking into it. I detail 3 lightings on a regular basis and haven’t had to clean the seats yet. Whatever information you gather will be greatly appreciated.</HTML>
