Recently I have noticed many people calling a car wash soap shampoo... what is the reason for this?

My guess is because that people who use it have figured it really is not much stronger than a shampoo as far as cleaning goes.

I never heard it called car wash soap! It has always been car shampoo across the Atlantic as far as I know.
