I have begun looking around for a Series 1 Coupe. I've owned many British cars but never an E-Type. From what I have been reading, it sounds like the 64 through early 67's are the most desirable with the full syncro transmission and 4.2 engine - opinions?

If anyone knows of a decent car available (no 2+2's), let me know, I'm not interested in a pristine example as I enjoy working on my cars and if it's too nice, there is nothing to work on, although I'm not much of a body man. Tried it once many years ago and swore I'd never do it again - one has to know their limitations!
