I found a 1971 Pontiac T37 and would like info on the specs of these cars. Is this car a collectible?

Thanks.

<HTML>Tim:

Here is what I know about the T37, based on what a knowlegable Pontiac GTO friend told me.

The T-37 and GT-37 were performance Le Mans versions, I believe available in '70 and maybe '71. I've heard of a '72.

The T-37 is rare but the GT-37 is really a rare car. It was suppose to be a step between the Le Mans and GTO. Most Pontiac historical books will have something on the cars, but for restoration purposed they were the same exterior and interior as a Le Mans.

Tim,

What motor is in the car?You could have a 350,400 or 455cid motor. The 350's are more common

Hi Dan,

There was 5,802 GT-37's made in 1971.Engines ranged from 350 2barrel to the 455HO.The 19711/2 GT-37's are ultra rare, with only 43{Foil Stripes and 7 with the Black and Gold Trim}Your car is still rare with 5,802 built, its a keeper,I hope this helps. Tim

sweet, thanx. The 71 gt-37 i bought has a numbers matching 350 in it. I just bought it and havent had time to read up on it so that helps. I can wait to fix it up and get it on the road, its one of those cars you never see out there. By the way what is the difference between the t-37 and the gt-37?

Hi Dan,

The difference in both cars is:The GT-37 you got the Ralley 11 wheels,side strips on the body.The motors that were available for the 71 GT-37 were:350cid. 2barrel 250hp,400cid. 2barrel 265hp,400cid. 4barrel 300hp,455 4barrel 335hp and the 455HO 335 hp.In real life the HO motor had more HP than the standard 455cid.Pontiac made a 19701/2 GT-37 also,pontiac produced 1,419 in 1970.
