66 or 67 GTO

I drive by a white 66 or 67 GTO on the way home everyday. It's an obvious project car, with driver's side rear tire completely deflated, and few signs of abuse visible even at a distance. My question is though about the hood. As far as I can tell (as I'm flying by at 50 mph) there is no scoop on the hood. The pictures I have seen of '66 and '67 GTOs all have scoops. This led me to think that maybe it's a clone or a badge job... Were there '66 or '67 GTO without scoop on the hood?

I would think every true GTO would have a scoop!! But thats not to say the owner has a LeMans hood on it? You may want to check it out... just to check it out.. i would, with permission of course....Joe

I think I solved the mystery, just by driving a little slower! What I thought was a GTO badge in the front grill (right side) was in fact just Pontiac. So it's most likely a similar-year LeMans...
