Thank you for downloading and using Quik R N U R, a reaction time game with single and two player modes.

Quik R N U R is a time reaction game of skill and strategy. The goal is to press the "GO!!" button when the green light comes on. Your reaction time, which is the time from when the green light comes on to the time you press the "GO!!" button, is displayed in the top of the app.

How to Play

Red Light

Press the "Start" button at the bottom. The four red lights come on in a 1/2 second sequence and the "Start" button turns into a "GO!!!" button.

Yellow Light

After the fourth red light, the yellow light comes on after a random amount of time, between 0.5 and 1.5 seconds.

Green Light

Exactly 0.4 seconds after the yellow light comes on, the green light comes on. Press the "GO!!!" and your reaction time appears at the top.

Two Players

Quik R N U R offers a two player mode. Switching to two players is done by accessing the Settings page, via the gear icon at the bottom of the app.

Two Player Mode Switch

The Settings page also has provisions for entering the names of Player One and Player Two.

While in two player mode, the Quik R N U R app will switch orientation to enable two players facing each other to access the game without having to rotate the device.

Another feature is that the active player and their score is highlighted by a red background. The red background also features the active players "Best Time". The player who has the best reaction time will have that time in blue with a red border.

The Secret

Here's an old drag racers trick: Hit the "GO!!!" button when the yellow light comes on, as opposed to when the green light comes on. If you are reasonably quick, you'll see a red banner with a "A Bit Too Quick!!" admonition.

You can work around this by setting a delay time in the settings page. Basically this delay time delays the "GO!!" button by the amount of time entered. The red banner with a "A Bit Too Quick!!" admonition gives you a suggestion for a delay time that should work for you. Drag racers would refer to this as their "delay box".

Break Out Graphic

The Quik R N U R app is based on the "Christmas Tree" used in drag racing, although a different color sequence is used; yellow, then green and finally red is typical. For more on the subject, check Wikipedia.

Note:

Throughout the Quik R N U R app, we refer to "ms." which is short for milliseconds. .001 seconds equals 1 millisecond.
