We have a rental that goes back today. The car has slight scuff marks on it. Please advise.

what is the technique that you would use. and also will the alcohol affect the other paint -i.e. drying or smearing

damp cloth(old wash cloth or soft rag to apply and soft dry rag to remove). put a little wax or polish on the cloth and rub straight back and forth lightly. then remove with the soft dry cloth. depending on how bad they are, you may have to make several passes. you can probably start with the rubbing alcohol first since that is what you are more likely to have around the house. same application and removal applies except apply with a dry rag for the alcohol. also, any goo gone or adhesive remover product should work.

Is it a scuff where you hit something and it left paint from the object you hit on the car or an actual scratch? For scuffs, use polishing compound, rub in a circular motion using a terry cloth. Then buff after it hazes. If its a scratch, then get a bottle of Meguiars Scratch X. That is the best scratch remover I have ever used.
