Microfiber on eBay

<HTML>I just bought some of these towels off eBay from user id microfiber4u seems like a good deal, I bought 16 16x16 towels and 10 12x12 towels. Ask this guy to combine shipping if you purchase more than one product my total came up to 50.53 shipped so each towel came up to about 1.94 shipped. Just passing along what I think is a good deal.

Thanks,

<HTML>Try the guy that sells on roadfly.org detailing forum
I have purchased several times from him and the QUALITY is GREAT!
They are Korean made, not the cheaper china towels that fall apart after several washes.
REMEMBER...
"The bitterness of poor quality lingers long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten." -

Just ask around the forum what towels are recommended, lots of great posts on this subject.
Autopia also has some good info on towels</HTML>

<HTML>Is it right to advertise products for free on a public forum, or should one pay for an ad? Maybe even a pop-up would be acceptable?</HTML>

<HTML>Irene,
Free advertising has been going on since I have been reading the board(although I have just regestered).
I assume there is no problem with it here, as no posts advertising have ever been deleated or references to websites, phone solicitations, etc.

So, go for it!
If they want to stop you from advertising, they would have to put a stop to everyone, yes?

Aren't you from Top of the Line?

Why not post a few of "your" specials. I am sure I would be interested in trying products I either have not tried, something new or just a friendly "refill" smiling smiley</HTML>

<HTML>I really don't WANT to do that. I never have on other forums, and honestly don't think it's right. I do enjoy helping others with any knowledge or experience I've had, but will never say I have a particular item for sale.

That can easily be done through private emails. All you have to do is just email the person looking for a product (or a special). In fact, I'll just send you an email in reply to your questions!</HTML>

<HTML>SHOW CAR & IRENE:

The webmaster does not want suppliers contacting participants on the forum by their personal email that they put on the forum. He wants a supplier to tell the participant who asks about a product to mention it on line and if the participant wants to contact the person that is OK.

This is different than other forums, but this is what he told me, in any case.

<HTML>That's seems hard to believe. I cannot believe that all of the Forum members agree with this practice. I also don't think it's fair to those who pay for advertising. I have paid for advertising on forums in the past, and that sort of thing would not be acceptable.

On a web business forum I visit, web designers sometimes try to interject with a sales pitch, and the members jump all over them.

I also believe no one should contact a forum member through email unless they are requesting specific information, had their email posted, and they are told they will be receiving an email. This gives them a chance to decline. You can also ask the person to contact you by email.

It all boils down to ethics.</HTML>

Your logic is undisputable. However, you need to take your complaint up with the Webmaster on this site.

<HTML>Did someone mention my name?

When somebody has a problem and you know of a solution which involves the purchase of a product, we all benefit if the word is passed. This is true even if the product is one of yours.

Using the forum as an advertising vehicle is a no-no of course, and for obvious reasons. I know it can be hard to distinguish where we go over the limit, since there are no hard and fast rules covering the subject.

It all reminds me of the Supreme Court judge who, concerning the subject of pornography, said "I can't define it, but I know it when I see it".

As I've said before, moderation is the key. I really haven't seen too much abuse of the subject with the messae board, although I have kept my eye on some threads and posts. In one case I did have to take action, but that was a long time ago. Hopefully, I will not have to again.

I don't think it is unfair to the paying advertisers, as they get to bombard us with their material in exchange for their $$$. They also don't discuss detailing issues, so their content is obviously paid for and everyone understands that. Should someone attempt to bombard us for free, well that would be different!

<HTML>Thats really cool, Paul!
I know of way too many forums, that if you even mention a product that they are not selling, the thread gets deleated and you get a nasty email.
I have never been banned, I just quietly leave when it gets to the point of product "dictatorship".
I know of one forum where you literally can not say ZAINO!
Another forum you can not say other products are good or point to another source..., so you are really only getting advertising, not honest discussions of various products.

Thanks for clearing that upsmiling smiley
Thanks for keeping the forum open to new/improved and above average products smiling smiley</HTML>

<HTML>Webmaster,

Thanks for the post. It is helpfull to the forum members to better understand your position on issues like this. I appreciate reading your thoughts on this and seeing the guidlines for advertising on the forum.

I also appreciate that this forum is operated and ruled by the Webmaster and not its members. Unlike a democracy where we all vote on the rules, we all need to look to the Webmaster for direction instead of acting like its our priviledge to run the place. No matter if the members all agree with a practice or not its not the members decision.
