Ok...buffer haze will NOT go away...

<HTML>I buffed the swirls out of a car this past weekend, then afterwards I polished it and waxed it. There is that holographic 3-D haze effect on one side of the car. How do I get rid of this??? I used brand new pads and the car was cleaned...twice.</HTML>

<HTML>You either:

a. Didn't use enough product on the pad.
b. Let the product dry before buffing.
c. Went to fast with the buffer (or) tilted the wheel.</HTML>

<HTML>Well how do you know how much product to use on the pad? I usually just do a swirl or two around it and then an "X" on the paint in the area I'm about to polish. It may be that I went too fast. I don't buff the product off, instead I use a pressure cleaner afterwards and get it all off and then begin the polishing process. Buffing it off is hard as hell because everytime you buff out an area, you do the next and spray 'overspray' all over the area you just buffed!</HTML>

<HTML>I like to keep the face of my pad evenly covered with product. Another thing that might help will be to use a quick detailer mist onto the pad before buffing to get it somewhat dampened.

I never buff off with the rotary because the product is drying and then that will create swirls.

Keeping speed below 1,200rpms is sufficient.</HTML>

<HTML>No, I use a Makita 9227C polisher. The product I used recommended speeds of 1800-2500rpms. I was going at it at about 2000rpms I would say. I was using a concave soft foam polishing pad (best results) with Meguiars Swirl Remover #9.</HTML>
