Engine Degreaser

Engine Degreaser

<HTML>I am looking for a safe engine degreaser to use. I know from a couple of articles I read to be extremely careful of ingredients because it will wreck rubber and hurt aluminum.

I need a nice degreaser to spray on, and I also need to know how to clean caked on radiator fluid to get my own engine compartment clean since I had a radiator hose blow on me last fall and the engine compartment's coated with radiator fluid.

Any suggestions?

<HTML>Simple Green is an all purpose cleaner that can take off grease, but it is not the most effective.

Are you looking for an engine degreaser? These typically contain caustics (sodium hydroxide) which literally burn dirt off a surface. That is why if you have aluminum heads on the engine you should not use a true engine degreaser because of the sodium hydroxide, it will stain them.

If you want something less aggressive that will not harm items in the engine or on the car you then could use Simple Green, but it will take longer to clean heavy grease off the engine.
