Readers !
One of the most annoying things is to be washing a vehicle and find smears of grease on panels you just scrubbed with a truck brush or mop. You quickly realize that there is a hunk of grease in the wheel well or behind it on the fender and you have picked it up and spread it around.
The best procedure I've come up with for this situation is as follows :

1) Stop what you are doing. Don't spread it any further. Feel free to cuss an imaginary truck driver who overgreased his fifth wheel.

2) Clean your brush or mop with degreaser and pressure wash it as you rub it on a wall or something.

3) Soak a rag with mineral spirits or tar remover and wipe the grease off of the car. You can follow this with degreaser or all-purpose cleaner. Rinse.

4) If grease got onto the windshield or windows, clean them with tar remover, Windex, and auto window cleaner-in that order. You may even use a glass polish to be sure the grease is all gone. Clean or replace contaminated windshield wiper rubber.

5) Re-wax areas where the cleaning removed the wax.

I hope others will add some ideas here.
