When all is going too well and you drop your NEW clay bar on the floor....... I now place some old newspapers around the car. Presto zippo now my clay bar doesnt fall on a dirty concrete floor. Hope this helps someone save $20.00...

LOL... yep. Good idea there. Do you take the car away from the wash area to clay it? Was just thinking the newspaper would get pretty soggy if it was my place.

I know some people take it in to the dry area and use QD to clay..

Our shop is only 40'x40' so no, the cars stay where they are from start to finish.

I just cut it in half and in half again and refold to the clean inside section and re use it

It is not a perfect solution but I cut the bar into relatively small slices so I don't risk dropping the whole thing.

If you drop it, try to cut a thin slice off it, removing the contaminated surface.

A dirty clay bar might still be usable for something like rocker panels or brake dust on old rims.

A roll of contractor paper from Lowes might be better than newspapers. Just speculating on this one.
