SIII DHC RHD Manual

Dear All,

I have an 1972 V12 that is an origianl RHD Manual from the UK.

I recently joined the Australia Jaguar Drivers Club and met other EType owners who pointed out difference in my model compared to theirs. Could someone confirm that all is correct with my model?

The differences are:-

The gear stick knob is cromed
The Carb air intake scoops are black instead of silver
The bonnect has on each side Jaguar XJS badges (or retangle jaguar badges).

I have been told all are not original and most importantly I am about to have the bonnect resprayed and am wondering whether or not to keep the side badges.

Could this be a special or has someone done their own thing?

Regards
Paul (Australia)

Paul,

As far as i can find out no badges on the bonnet, the gear knob should be black with the gearbox legends scribed in and carb intake scoop should be silver.
I got this info from Original Jaguar E-Type by Philip Porter.

Paul - just seen your message. I have an original V12 E Type that has won a few prizes for originality. Dave is right about the gear knob; the air intakes should be silver (Hammerite produces as near as dammit effect) . The badges on the bonnet are without question non-standard - if you want to keep them, it's up to you - but I would dump them!
