For Sale: 87 Pontiac Fiero GT-Oh with 36k

* Was a one owner car most of it's life and dealer serviced with receipts
dating back to 1987. Has additional documentation, manuals, and window
sticker. It has been serviced by me since I've owned it. I am a auto tech
for 20 years and very meticulous. It's always been garage kept and never
driven in bad weather. The undercarriage is super clean. (see undercarriage
pics) It looks, runs, feels, and drives like a 2002 vehicle with 12,000
miles. Everything is excellent and works as it should. It's mostly
stock/original with a few modifications to improve function & appearance.
This car was never raced or abused. Pampered would be an understatement.
People at gas stations ask me ("what is it?") and ("is it a 2004?") which
always makes my day.
<P>
* Drivetrain:
<P>
- Engine runs 100% perfect and is very clean internally & externally. Oil
was always changed within 3000 miles and sometimes within 1500 miles. The
oil still looks new on the stick when you check it at 1000 miles after an
oil change. Amsoil 5w30 synthetic is used. The valve train looks new when
you look inside the valve cover. (see engine pic 5) Recently had new
distributor, intake and valve cover gaskets done. It doesn't leak a drop of
oil and is completely dry. Recently installed new AC plugs, Packard wires,
GM module, GM pickup coil, set timing and replaced filters as preventative
maintenance. Throttle body, plate, and IAC were cleaned like new. Throttle
position was set properly and IAC re-learn was performed. It idles rock
solid at 900 RPM. The O2 and AT sensors were also replaced only because I
wanted fresh crisp readings. The engine ran perfect before all this work was
performed and now it runs 110% perfect.
<P>
- Transmission works perfectly. No clutch slipping or odd behavior. GM
Syncromesh is used. Both shifter cables were replaced recently. The shifter
linkage and bushings are tight, and everything was cleaned and re-greased
when the cables were installed. It shifts buttery smooth.
<P>
* Interior: I hate to use the word "mint" so I'll just say it's beautiful.
The seats were covered for most of their life so they are spotless. The
steering wheel shows no signs of wear. The headliner does not hang.
Everything else is great. Overall I'd say it's a 9 out of 10.
<P>
* Exterior: The original paint is still is excellent shape. Has a rich deep
shine. No damage. Only very minor flaws and imperfections due to being 17
years old. I would rate it a 9 out of 10.
<P>
* Undercarriage: The underside is super clean. I have 2002 model cars that
come into my shop for service with less than 30k miles that are not as clean
as this Fiero. What else can I say?
<P>
* Modifications: These modifications were performed by me for function and
looks. All the work I do to this car is 100% professional from 20 years
experience. I did them to personalize it and improve on it.....
<P>
- Lower front spoiler: (ISMA / NASCAR styled. I never liked how the Fiero
aero nose shoehorned upward. I think this gives the front end a more
finished look)
<P>
- Functional side intake scoops: (Really adds to the car and looks factory.
Drivers side is functional for engine intake just like the original panel,
custom ram-air duct work, and a K&N lifetime free-flow filter in the
original canister)
<P>
- 180 thermostat and 195/185 fan temp switch: (prevents engine from reaching
227 in stopped traffic during summer which is normal for a stock GT and too
hot for my liking. This car maintains the 190 range)
<P>
- 16" Enkei RSF2 alloy rims & Daytona HR directional tires: (I felt this car
should have came with 16" from the factory. I didn't want anything 17" and
larger with no tire sidewall. I picked a rim that I felt was subtle but
attractive in appearance with a polished lip like the original. Much
homework went into the rim & tire selection for proper fitment in all
dimensions for safety, handling, ride, and speedometer/odometer correctness)
<P>
- 140 MPH speedometer: (Nice little item I picked up. High quality, very
well made, die cut with 3M backing, looks & works factory)
<P>
- Shortened shifter: (the factory shifter height was totally unacceptable.
At the current length it looks & feels correct)
<P>
- WS6 and Fiero shield vinyl: (WS6 logo is on rear opposite of GT in same
exact font and looks factory. Fiero shield on fenders in same color as
ground effects. Both are easily removable if preferred)
<P>
* In closing..... I am not forced to sell it. Really enjoy owning & driving
it. Hate to sell it and will probablly regret it. I drive it every weekend
if the weather is nice. Only reason for selling is to finance another
project. If your looking for a really nice GT look no further. Pictures of
the car can be viewed at this website.....
