Engine problems...

I took the 389 out of my 65 GTO and am trying to put in a 400 out of a 72 Grand Prix, the problem is the oil pan is too large, it won't even reach the mounts. Does anyone know where I can find an oil pan for that engine that will fit into my GTO?

Why did you take the 389 out? Is it original?

I put a 400 from a 72..bonneville i think in my 65 LeMans without any clearance problems. The only trick to it for me was an adapter to use the 65 mounts. The block had 6x heads and on the driver side i had to grind a little material off right where the exhaust pipe bolts onto the head. Its still got the origianl oil pan.
