I am working on my 65 and removed the door from the car at the door / hinge point. Pins are worn so I have a hinge pin and bushing set coming from OPG. In the mean time I am trying to get the old pins out, they are not budging. I have applied penetrating oil at different times but they don't seem to want to move with moderate taps with punch and small hammer.Questions
1- are these4 pins pressed in at the factory and have to be pressed out.
2- or do I have to take the hinge off the car frame and hold over a metal block with a hole and strike with a bigger hammer and swing, I don't want to bend something something.
3- Should I heat them up with a small torch.
Any past experience with this matter. Looking for advise please.
