2004 GTO problems

Has anyone had, or know of any factory problems on the new 2004 GTO, six speed manual? We had the car in for repair because the axel came loose from the differential a few weeks ago, it was repaired under warranty, but there may be other problems with the car unknown to us. We are concerned what may have caused the accident Sept 25th with the death of my son (17) and his girlfriend here in Maryland.

I work in the insurance industry and I haven't heard of any problems with the 04 GTO, but that doesn't mean your car didn't have a problem. I suggest you have an engineer look at the car to identify any defects. How fast was the car moving when it went off the road? Did it go off the road in a curve or straight way? Pat Goss of Motor Week could probably suggest an engineer in your area if you haven't hired someone already.
