TRI POWER

Hello I am thinking about adding a tri power to my 65
someone told me that I will need to change the water pump.
Does someone out there know why?

You need to have the 8 bolt timing chain cover (8 bolts hold the water pump on, 11 bolt timing chain cover is the later style, 69 and up). On the back of the timing chain cover on the earlier ones (8 bolt style), there is a dimple or notch for the thermostat housing. I have used the later timing chain covers with tri-powers but you can not use the correct thermostat housing.
