I have a 1966 GTO with a turbo 400 in it now.
I want to switch it over to a 4 speed.
I know its a pretty straight forward conversion, but the thing im concerned about is getting the fork like bracket welded onto the frame near the drivers side inner fender well that one half of the Z-bar attaches to.
Does this bracket/fork need to be welded in exactely how it was at the factory?
I assume ill have to have the fender, hood and inner fender off the car.
Has anybody done a conversion like this before that can enlighten me to any problems that I might incounter.
