4 barrel to a tripower swap?

swapping a tripower to a 4 barrel engine...is there any difference in the cam? or is it just an easy swap? any info would be awesome! thanx! 66 gto

The cam is different for the tri power, but, not radically so. The 4 barrel cam will work just fine. I converted my 65 goat 4 years ago to a tri power and did not change cam. Works just fine. You will need a different throttle cable and throttle cable bracket. I believe both are available from Ames. You are pretty much limited to the stock distributor as the tri power manifold will not clear a large after market HEI distributor. Also make sure that your existing timing chain cover has the dimple in it to clear the water neck. Hope this helps. Good luck.
