VESPA 400 VIN

where, if anyone knows, can I find the vin number for a
vespa 400? I've checked everywhere I can think of and no luck. Please let me know

The vin number is on plate in back of engine. It is under the rod that holds the engine lid open.

Hi Samantha, have you found the plate with the VIN on it? does the Vespa 400 have VINs stamped elsewhere on the chasis like the Amphicar?

The Vehicle Identification Number is stamped on the gutter just above the 2 coils.

050118 Tu 10:55 Thanks,"Merci" Jacques, I take it that the VIN is stamped in the metal of the 'lip' of the gutter just above the 2 (ignition) coils. Is this the only place to find the VIN stamped? I wonder when VIN plates were first attached? Sorry don't have a Vespa 400 any more to register.

here is an other vespa 400 with US-specs. i bought it in new jersey 1977 and took it to germany where ihad made the body in 1978.
i also need US headlight bezels and rear lights. my car still sits on its original white wall tires as it has only covered 2900 miles
