I use Scratch X. Very impressed with the results. As far as Water spots...Very hard to get rid of. Especially in areas that are known for acid rain. I regularly wax my car, and yet they still are there. Keeping the car in the garage will help. In case you are thinking, don't wipe it down after rain, as it will scratch. Is it a scuff where you hit something and it left paint from the object you hit on the car or an actual scratch? For scuffs, use polishing compound, rub in a circular motion using a terry cloth. Then buff after it hazes. If its a scratch, then get a bottle of Meguiars Scratch X. That is the best scratch remover I have ever used.by Jay - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
If it comes down to bringing it elsewhere to get washed, here are a few tips. 1) Don't bring it to the automatic car wash. The bristles on the brushes can damage the car at the speed they move at by scratching it and can leave a ding or dent. A friend of mine actually had a piece of his alloy wheel chipped off.
