<HTML>Hi all, I have to be careful how I use my terms here. From what I understand you¡¦re using shampoo to describe both what I call "pre-spray" and the "extraction" chemical. The two are different to me. The "pre-spray" (actually called that by my local rep) I'm using is professional quality and designed for use on commercial carpet and residentialby Rick U.. - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>Dan, Yeah, somewhat correct. From what I remember they are called extractors but they dont shoot shampoo. They shoot an extraction chemical. The "sampoo" is in the prespray which you use before you use the extraction machine. The shampoo usually leaves the surface kinda crusty feeling. But it's clean. That's where the extraction chemical comes in. It'by Rick U.. - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>Hi all. I dont have any type of carpet cleaning equipment. I've done the following recently and it seems to work and just want to see what others think. 1) Pre-spray carpet or upholstery with carpet shampoo using as little as chemical as possible. Basically just mist surface. (You don’t have to see it's there, just know that it is). 2) Scrub surface with scrub brush. 3) &by Rick U.. - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>John, As with most sealants the Z2 works as promised. It goes on easy and comes off with little effort and protects for quite a while. You have to follow the directions very carefully though. The one point that is most important is that it does not take alot of Z2 to do one car. About an ounce will do one complete coat. There is a chemical in the mixture that when applied too heavlyby Rick U.. - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML> Bud, everyone, Just to clear my name, while I agree that Sealants are clearly better than waxes, I simply recommended the Rain Dance Premium because Jay asked for a <I>wax</I> that was easy to apply, easy to remove and is readily available. Rain Dance Premium lasts, is cheap, you can find it just about everywhere. And for a <i>wax</i> it's easy to applyby Rick U.. - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>Hi, It took me a few posts to trust Bud so I know how some people feel but now that I trust what he says it's free wisdom for me! There are two schools of education: experience and wisdom. Experience is learning from your mistakes, wisdom is learning from others. At first I learned things by just doing, trying different things. Got alot of experience from that. <HTML>Jer, This is what werks for me. I cut up bath towl, 100% cotten american made then ball up a section and drench it with water then pour a cap full of soap <i>(I prefer Meguiar's #62 Carwash Shampoo & Conditioner)</i> directly onto the towl. <HTML>Check out Rain Dance Premium. I hear it's decent. I dont know if it turns white however. I'm trying to find that out right now. It's about $8 for a 14oz can of paste. <img src ="; I've heard of alot of people using Mothers Pure Carnauba Wax. <HTML>You can get Zaino from their website. Shipping should be cheap unless you live outside the 48 in which case you have to do a little more work. I see your email address is Hawaii. If this is the case then I live in NY and for me to ship as far away as my grandparents in Hawaii is not too bad. I would say somthing that size might be about $10 - $15 max. <HTML>When you guys are talking about flat rate, are talking an estimate from a book, or just a guess? I mean I'm sure your guesses are very accurate but say a repair manual always says if you work at this speed you get X amount accomplished, which means if your fast you get more $$ per hour. ~Rick</HTML>by Rick U.. - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>I just use the #845 Liquid Insulator Wax. My friend uses the #915 Marque D' Elegance but it has 2 disadvantages, 1) is hard to take off 2)it's expensive. One good thing about it is that it lasts a long time, but that can be a con if you like to wax your car alot, you'll get buildup if you do it more than 4 times a year. ~Rick</HTML>by Rick U.. - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts

<HTML>The short answer is do it when the paint needs it. The question is when does the paint actually need some work. <HTML>I just purchased an Orbital buffer (not the random orbital type). This is my first experience with one. I've been able to use it on my car and have a problem with the cutting liquid or polishing liquid I'm using going everywhere. <HTML>I have one. I use it for putting Meguiars Machine Glaze. It's nice but uses too much material for waxing I think. Good for polishing. I use a cheap 10" polisher for taking wax off. <HTML>Hello, I think one of the detailers you are working with is trying to compare Waxes to Paint Sealants and is actually getting the term "Paint Sealant” mixed up with "polish". I’m not going to point out what the difference between the Paint Sealant and Polish is as that was already ever so eloquently detailed in an above post by Bud.
