Here is some "real" words of wisdom, from a very smart man, who made a big change in my life. Mr. David Besuden, Sr. I was just a couple of years of being in the actual business of car care chemicals, was not working for his company, but was "involved" and he felt that I showed some promise, so he took me to dinner at the Fairmont Hotel in New Orleans during the NADA conventby Ketch22 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Those who practice such behavior, will normally do it due to personal insecurity issues. In short, they are losers and know it, but will not admit that they are losers.by Ketch22 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
I have to agree with Bud. I will add this one, very important part. Forget what you may wish or invision as "the detailing business", and obtain and "understand" the demographic's of your market area! Automotive detailing is a part of the "service industry" of the total vehicle car business, which is dominated by accepted, due to advertising, etc such as brakby Ketch22 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
The only vehicle manufacturer approved and used black trim restorer (permanent repair) is the ValuGard ETR Kit. One kit can do 20 to 40 vehicles. Their website has some of the TSB's that the car companies issued to their dealers and on the site is a training video of how to apply the products. I know all about clay, was first exposed to it while at Finish Kare in 1993.by Ketch22 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
The use of "clay" or a "clay towel" is just like putting a band-aid on an open wound. Seems to appear to resolve the concern, for a short time, however, in reality, unless it is overspray, etc, not acids, acid rain swelling/deposits, or ferrous metals particles, just a quick fix. The concern will return very quickly, once exposed to the two main "reactives" that aby Ketch22 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Black plastic exterior trim restoring, great add on. Not dressing them, but returning the parts to the finish that they had before UV ray exposure and caustic chemicals took away the dark black finish. Use a product that has and is still used by the vehicle manufacturers for warranty repairs, lasts for years when applied correctly, no special tools or equipment are needed. Easy to do, just neeby Ketch22 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Rule #13, we get old, so we label things and put them a place that we will forget where we put them. Then, when we do find them, we forget why we put them there in the first place. Speaking from personal experience.by Ketch22 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Bud, I agree with all of which you presented. Professionals practice what you presented, that is why they are "professionals". Which shows why they are able to make a profit and be in business for years, rather than a couple of months. Grumpyby Ketch22 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
So, what new posts to read, -"spam". Hey, Paul!!!! Yeah, there may be some conflict on the forum and for things of which you are not aware, however, only "spam" for now going on,two days? Grumpyby Ketch22 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts

And, Hack, where is Moonlight these days? I see nothing wrong with David's replies to him. David was simply pointing out that there may have been more to his posted concern than he, or you, were aware of.by Ketch22 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
1987, in the Burbank area, and only one year as I was not doing the mobile bit for a career, but so I could prove out processes and learn what mobile detailers faced everyday. Floyd Mequiar, who I worked for, Finish Kare, allowed me the time to go out and do so, he said I needed to learn other than in a shop, etc. I also did all the set up and training and servicing, for 9 of Anglo American auby Ketch22 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Oh, poor Hack, I did mobile detailing in Southern California for about a year as I learned more about the business. Did quite well, I might add. As time permitts in the next couple of months, as a matter of fact, I would have to say that since I have two boats to do for some folks, at the Yacht Club, I am still able to be "mobile".by Ketch22 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Yup, once again you have demonstrated why the name "Hack" fits you. And an affront to every dedicated professional detailer who work to learn and practice the craftsmanship of true detailing.by Ketch22 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Oh, such lanquage from one who professes that I and others are such louts with the lanquage. Hack is the name that fits you and what you do, or profess to do, and your lack of knowledge of what it really takes to be professional detailer. Hack, what is one to say, all you do is cry, cry, cry because no one will listen to you, read your post or respond other than those of us who know your true lack of experience and abilities. We just don't care for your constant attempts to lead those who do wish to know how to handle the entire detailing process down a path to one product, and your attacks on paint correction, let alone thaby Ketch22 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts

David, you seem to have missed the point of what the Hack understands. You used the term "normal" and everyone knows that the Hack is not "normal" or even able to understand what any one might say that does not fit his agenda. Normal, working and successful detailers know that to listen to anything he has to say is so off base it is not even funny anymore.by Ketch22 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts

And when you go away, Hack, the count of visitors who post will increase in time. It appears that the folks who come here have no intent to respond to any of your rants. Micro-fiber buffing pads are a new addition to the detailers aersonal, not many are aware of the advance they have made towards reducing marring while performing finish correction procedures.
