Gina how do you know the damage was created with 000 steel wool? All I can say is that we have used that technique for 32 years and no problems. If it were 000 as you alledge how do you know what medium they used? Maybe it was rubbing compound with aggressive abrasive. Regards Bud Abrahamby buda - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
READ AN INTERESTING ARTICLE AND THOUGHT I WOULD PASS IT ON TO YOU DETAILERS WHO ARE STILL STRUGGLING TO SURVIVE FROM THE EFFECTS OF THE DOWN ECONOMY THESE PAST THREE YEARS: Changing your mind!!! Is that good or bad. Some in our society see a person's changing their mind about something as a sign of weakness, of indecisiveness. While I would agree that SW must be used carefully, I disagree that it cannot be used as indicated. Not all steel wool is the same. Typically a DETAILER will have "00" SW to remove rust from metal. Absolutely this is nor recommended on glass, but "000" or better "0000" Steel wool is more gentle than an insect removal pad with a telon net which can scratch theby buda - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts

Ketch Your post echoes what Michael Gerber says in his famous book, "The E Myth," which is: "the fatal mistake a small business owner makes is that they believe if you know the technical work of a business, you can operate a business that does technical work." The reason, he says, it is fatal is because: "it is not true." When a technician operating a busiby buda - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts

Gina If you search the forum you will see there are numerous posts on this subject. You will see that I initially criticized those who were touting the companies who were using nano technology. We often hear it said that, "detailing is not rocket science," like it is easy, anyone can do it. The way I would reply is, "no it is not, it is harder than rocket science." Why, because to penetrate space scientists need to only master the immediate laws of math and physics. Simple. So simple, in fact the basics are taught in high school. In the world of detailing we often see experts anointing themselves as greatest, the best or simp #1. If you are good you don't have to brag, others will do it for you. With that in mind here are some personal rules to live by as a detail business owner: 1. If mobile, show up 10 minutes early. If a fixed location be there 30 minutes before opening. 2. Paul Yes I would be in favor of more aggressive moderation. When individuals begin to dominate a site it looses it's interest for others. Have seen this on numerous detailing sites. Sites that are moderated keep these types of individuals away from the site and the truly interested people out in the detail cyber-world participate. Please do moderate.
