<HTML>Bud has a great point and I love his products. Not sure exactly what's in Collinite, but when it comes to Carnauba I love it because IT TRULY LASTS!</HTML>by David R - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>What about the legalities of the Sealant. Did you just make a label similar to the original container so that you covered all basis of "Caution", "Directions", etc??? Or did you just private label it of sorts? Great idea! Nice site!</HTML>by David R - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>Definately a good point, but my customers are lazy and/or are not confident enough to detail their own cars. Heck they probably won't even use the Sealant, but once after they bought it! I am not really scared of losing my clients, but could see where and how easily you could. I think this is why Detail Plus doesn't sell in smaller units. Because they want to market thby David R - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>turbomangt, That is excatly why I wish Diamond Plus came in pints. I have customers who want it for their "toys": Boats, Personal Water-Craft, etc. And these toys are usually jobs I either don't want or are at the lake house or something. I know I could make extra $$$ selling pints of it! I have given it to a few friends, but I am not comfortable giving an unmarkby David R - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>Diamond Plus! I have been EXTREMELY Pleased with the results. Long lasting and the price can't be beat. I only wished it was sold in quarts or pints. They also have a One-Step that is almost as good in terms of durability. The physical appearance is completely different compared to the Diamond Plus, but I did a half and half test and after 8 weeks on an outdoor car both arby David R - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts

<HTML>Depends on how many you are willing to buy! Many companies will get them to you for far less. S.M. Arnold just started carrying Ultra Microfiber in 70/30 blend for about $1.25 ea. for first runs and less than a dollar for seconds if I remember right. They don't sell retail though. <HTML>Vac 'n Blo's are great! Even the lower 1.17hp one works great! Of course the 4.0 is the one to have if you go that route. My only complaint is that I didn't buy the wheels. It is round and rolls around a bit otherwise. Here is a listing link from the Manufacture's Site: ;by David R - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>As I understand it, TopoftheLine.com has a web exclusive. They should be the only place online to get Hi-Temp stuff. That's not to say a local retailer might not have it.</HTML>by David R - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts

<HTML>As Rod Bly suggested, a rectangle drafting eraser works absolutely perfect (the white kind)! I keep several at hands at all times. I had one detail that the customer had used Turtle Wax on and made a real mess. So when I detailed it I used the eraser and it looked brand new again. Works fast too.</HTML>by David R - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>I might add depending on your expertise the Porter Cable (7424) is more or less idiot proof. If your a beginner or just want a buffer for your own personal use I would recommend the Porter Cable just because you can't burn your paint. I also recommend getting a 6" Hook & Loop (Velcro) backing plate and a pad for each different chemical you use. I only add this postby David R - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>The most expensive one they carry available to the public is $1650 and they promise a lifetime supply. You empty the fancy lucite container they will fill it back up for free. Not sure how you obtain the $5000 stuff, but it must be EXTREMELY limited quanities and made to order. It's not even advertised on their website. <HTML>I've used Collinite for years. Simple to use (idiot proof), so don't worry about using it. It's just a good Carnauba Wax. Now for the UPP I agree. I have heard many problems applying it as well (especially hazing).</HTML>by David R - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>Bud, I'm sending you a sample of the "Real" stuff not sold in Wal-Marts, etc. This from their "Handcrafted" line. Below is a link to it: ;by David R - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>If you get no response here, email me. I can probably get a sample of Zymol Carbon Paste (Carbon is supposedly for dark colored paint). Stuff costs $50 for 8 ounces and I know Collinites paste ($14 for 12 oz.) outlasts it!</HTML>by David R - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>I noticed in one of the posts someone thought Collinite 476s cleaned, but in fact it is not a cleaner/wax 476s is just a finish coat wax. I sent Bud a sample of 885 (same as 476 but marketed for marine use) and 845 Insulator to test against some other waxes. We will see how they do! <HTML>I went to the Crystal Guard website (first post on this thread) and I guess the secret ingredient is Flourine??? They claim it is 800% more durable than leading brands (brands of what?). 2 1/2 times harder than nails on the "MOHS" scale of hardness??? But then on the maintence page it talks about how to care for the vehicle once it is applied and states if you don'tby David R - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>So is the jist that Pro products typically stain as well as cheap discount waxes thus only leaving expensive "boutique" waxes typically not staining? A filler's question! How fillious are they! <HTML>In terms of Carnauba's could paste have a higher concentration? Seems possible if it takes more petroleum distillates and such to break down the Carnauba into paste and even more to break it down to a liquid form. I'm sure it's not the case from what I have learned recently, but I always felt that way or rationalized it that way! I tried a Spray Clay from Diamondite that worked pretty good, but none of the other products he sells works (Shield & Cleaner). Probably not worth the money and just use Buda's method.by David R - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
I saw the dingworks too, but didn't feel I had any interest in PDR.by David R - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Bud you seem to know something about the chemical properties of waxes, sealants, etc. Are Amino-functional silicones in all wax/polish/sealants? Just curious what the "Active" ingredient of things such as Zaino, Klasse, or 5 Star Shine are? Speaking of chemicals, I heard of this product (neither positive or negative and definately NOT trying to give it a plug - never even tried it!!!by David R - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Basically from what I have read it takes very high temp. (400-600 degrees) to actually get teflon to adhere to the surface, so any wax/sealant/polish product with teflon won't really stick around for long.by David Richardson - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
I've used the Diamondite system and the clay actually works, but the "cleaner" left a haze that took something else to get off and the "Shield" did nothing. I even did a half and half test on the windows and you wouldn't know which had the shield or not.by David Richardson - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
