Hi. Think you might find it's from a Daimler 250. that little V8 could turn a bit faster than the old Jaguar lump. 3.8E went to 6000 with the red line from 5500 to 6000.by Paul Newton - Jaguar E-Type Forum
I had the same problem. In my case, the fluid was leaking across the two systems, within the booster. It ended up overflowing from the front reservoir. I've also seen an occasion where the fluid was leaking into the vacuum chamber of the booster. If you ain't got a puddle on the garage floor - booster gets my vote. Hi from UK. You have found some manufacturing numbers. these are not the engine ID. (Help me out '68 owners 'cos I'm playing from memory here) - You should be looking for a number stamped on the cylinder head, between the camshaft cover and no.6 (front) spark plug. Should say something like "RAxxxx-9". the same number should be stamped on the bellhousing flange above theby Paul Newton - Jaguar E-Type Forum
Hi there. I live in the UK and I have been restoring a 1963 3.8 coupe for nearly 17 years. The car was imported frm Texas in 1989. Can any of you guys give me any advice as to whether it is possible to trace a car's owner history in the US? We can do it over here, but the records aren't always too good. Any help much appreciated. Happy motoring (those of you lucky enough to have four whby Paul Newton - Jaguar E-Type Forum
Hi John, Good Luck!! I can't offer worldly wise advice, 'cos I only ever bought one E-type. Spent 16 years restoring it, but at least I knew what I was letting myself in for......Make sure you think very hard about which model you want. I did and despite it's shortcomings, went for a 3.8. HI, Just joined this forum to see what's happening. I have a '63 coupe, imported to the UK from Texas in 1989. I'm just approaching the end of the 16th year of it's restoration......and still it's the car I want more than any other! Best regards to everyone!by Paul Newton - Jaguar E-Type Forum
