when it stalls does it start right up, or not? check your distributer rotor on its under side very carfuly for a small burn through you may want to use a magnifing glass. also check your cap the same way. the wire from the dist could cause the problem. i dont think series 1.5 have a ballast resister but if it does it could cause it alsoby mark wustrack - Jaguar E-Type Forum
i just got a series 1 3.8 e type i understand these gearboxes dont shift too well but just how bad are they? if i shift slowly its ok but if ishift fast like you would in a modern car it grinds in second and third but not in forth first and reverse seem aful noisey all other gears are quiet. i am just wondering if this is normal for this trans. all the old test reports ive read talk about theby mark wustrack - Jaguar E-Type Forum
they are almost impossible to find welsh ent. might have a used one but its going to cost you plenty. i just bought a used duct assy. on eby for 108.00 just to get a couple vents i have not recived it yet so we will see.other wise call the vintage car salvage guys probabley going to take a lot of calls.by mark wustrack - Jaguar E-Type Forum
