Tim, Take a look at this forum page: . I had a similiar problem and did the water pump trick, as described in the above forum, and replaced the fan clutch. Jackson Check the May 2004 issue of High Performance Pontiac page #11. I just received the issue today in the mail. I decided to just add some Ram Air headers, polished 16 heads and a new exhaust with x pipe. I'll save some money and buy a Hot Rod next year. Tim Mallory is active in this forum. I have a bone stock 68 GTO 42k miles. I would like to boost HP to 450-475hp while keeping the original stock appearance. I would like the engine to be very streetable and run on pump gas. I have a set of RAM Air exhaust manifolds that are ground and polished, not installed. What parts would I need, be specific, to accomplish this? I have a 2.5in X pipe, not installed.
