Yeah, I do have a California Car Cover for it plus I put a tarp over that. I also park it on pressure treated lumber. Once it freezes up here, it is good for the winter. Very dry here so rust and moisture isn't an issue.by Tony Chiu - Pontiac GTO Forum
I store mine outside in the winter here in Alaska. All I did was make sure that the antifreeze could withstand -50 below. But before I stored it, I poured some Mystery Marvel Oil down the carb until it choked it self and shut off. That way it would be fully oiled for the 4-5 months it sits. Sure it will smoke a bit on start up but it will be lubed. Couple more months and I'll get her ouby Tony Chiu - Pontiac GTO Forum
Lance - Do you still have the intake and carbs? Sent you an email earlier this week but no reply. Thanks. - Tonyby Tony Chiu - Pontiac GTO Forum
Guys - Well my engine is finally in, as well as the transmission (M21 4spd), just have some minor things to hook up and I'll be ready to fire it up. I have a question on setting the inital timing though. I found one late last week. Thanks for looking though. I appreciate the response.by Tony Chiu - Pontiac GTO Forum
I a desperate to find a 1966 GTO Timing Cover for a 389, part number 9783130. I believe this is the same part number for the 1967 GTOs as well. If you know where one is or you have one that you are willing to part with, please let me know your price. Thanks again. - Tonyby Tony Chiu - Pontiac GTO Forum
All - I need to know if a later model, 69 and up, timing cover will work with my 66 water pump or do I need to update my water pump to match the later model timing cover? Thanks again. - Tonyby Tony Chiu - Pontiac GTO Forum
Why a 389? 67's came with 400s, unless it doesn't matter to you. 400s are definetly more abundant.by Tony Chiu - Pontiac GTO Forum
Gents - I am going to be rebuilding my 389 soon, but would like some more HP out of it. This is what I have currently. I am looking for a good reliable engine with some balls, no drag racing. Nothing lopey and run on pump gas, somewhere in the 375-400 hp range. XE Block bored 40 over. Not going to bore anymore. Cylinder walls are good. Crank is good, ground .010 Stock cam. I have the 17" Torque Thrust II chrome rims all the way around. I love them. My car is white and the chrome of the rims compliment the chrome trim very well.by Tony Chiu - Pontiac GTO Forum
All - I have a 66 GTO with a 4sp M21 transmission. It was converted to the M21 from a Automatic Powerglide. The problem is that my driveshaft u-joint is hitting the top of floor pan hump. It only happens when there are 2 or more people in the car. That can't be right. Are the cross memebers for automatics and manual transmissions the same? As far as I can tell they are. I can tell you this. Finding a 66 GTO for under $8K US is tough to find, especially with 3 deuces, no matter if it is matching number or not. But for $8K, the car has to at least be running and the interior and gauges must be in place, good tranny, rear end, solid front end and the engine complete. I would guess no more than $4k for something like you described. You will spend roughly anotherby Tony Chiu - Pontiac GTO Forum
