There is a lot of meat in the cylinder walls. I took a 66 out .165 and that gave me 421. With twin 4 barrels, headers and cam it was a fierce unit. But now I have a 65 with a 455 in it. As powerfull or better and has nice mannersby David Davies - Pontiac GTO Forum
I have one from a 68 wagon. If it will fit let me know. I'm in Boston areaby David Davies - Pontiac GTO Forum
Travis I had a new 66 GTO with tripower but 355 gears and the good 396s with the good gears and tires could beat me most of the time. I took the 389 out to 488 and built it and like nobody touched me but I lost the street driveability. I have a 65 now thet has a warm 455 that will tke a hot 427 Chevelle. The big thing is It A GTO not a chevy.by David Davies - Pontiac GTO Forum
Larry I have a 65 GTO that I would consider selling. Its not matching numbers. I bought it a couple of years ago and started to restor it but got sick ( I'm 62) and can't finish it. It has a rebuilt 455 ready to go in, new disk brakes, springs, shocks, 12 bolt rear. I have a reasonable set of seats to put in. If your interested we can take this farther. I live in the Boston area.by David Davies - Pontiac GTO Forum
