if you can find a 67 olds cutlass or 67 buick skylark the frames should interchange. To be sure go to your local salvage yard and they should have a interchange book on what will interchange with what. I had to do this with a 1965 GTO that I had purchased with a broken rear cross member and the frame that I wound up useing was out from under a 65 buick skylark. It almost sounds like the power valve in the carb is stopped up or maybe ruptured. Is the carb used or did it setup for a long time with gas in it or was it new??. If it is used you might take to some one who is very familer with holly carbs and have it rebuilt as they can be a pain if your not sure what you are doing. Several years ago a friend of mine got a Lemans T37 Pontiac as part of a trade when he sold his 64 GTO. In going thru the car we found the build sheet and the car came equiped with 455 HO 4spd 3 55 Safety Track rear end A/C P/S P/B and Honeycomb Wheels it was also a 2Dr post but very nicely equiped. upon reading the build sheet it had the notation Notify Engineering upon compleation. I am quite curious about the build sheet on the car and if it has the notifaction on it that says notify engineering up on compleation. I only ask this as I ran upon a 1971 Lemans that was a 455Ho 4spd with honeycomb wheels A/C P/S and P/B. Hi Tony, I am new to the pontiac forum however I was reading your question on a pontiac 389 rebuild. I rebuilt a Pontiac 389 for a 65 Pontiac GTO and used the following. Ramair 3 camshaft 6x heads The block was bored .040 over and I used the stock pistons (new of course) the heads had a 3 angle valve job and the exhaust ports were releived. along with 3 tube headers.
