I have started my own detail shop,it is something that I have loved to do since I was child.

The question Ihave is my Aunt has a jeep cherokee and the pastic they put around the bottom is very faded. I have tried Plastic X, and the gray colr will not come back. Is ther anywa to get the color back without her replacing it?

melissa :
Welcome. You can paint the cladding with SEM paint , which is available from body shop supply stores and, no doubt, online.

You can also get gray dye, similar to Forever Black.

You can try simply dressing the cladding with a protectant to see if that restores the appearance enough. I recommend Griot's, Adams Polishes, and Zaino vinyl dressings. AutoMagic ( Dress It Right ? ) was recommended by another member.

{ edit } Forgot to mention a new product that I have never tried but that makes some big claims...You may want to visit www.urethanesupply.com and read about PermaShine .

Thank you for your advice. I will Zaino vinyl dressings, and see if that helps before I try to dye it back

You need to first scrub the plastic with a brush and some APC to clean out the pores so it will absorb a vinyl dressing I just got a sample of Poorboys World trim restorer and used it on my trucks trim and seems to be some really good stuff.
