I have a 2000 Jag S-Type with Ivory interior. Some were some how one of my Leather belts rubbed off on to the seat and has left a 3-4" black band on the drivers seat at waist level I have tried everything I can think of to remove this stain. any Ideas?

I have tried saddle soap, eagle one leather cleaner, 409, Harley Davidson Leather cleaner, Simply Green and ink remover I am fearful of trying anything to strong I dont want to damage the leather.

saddle soap won't do it, what did you use with the eagle 1 cleaner, that will make a difference. if you just put it on a rag, try using a small detail brush and rubbing gently. The brush action will make the product work more better. did you use simple green full strength?..ink remover sounds too harsh....if none the above tips work, I'd say trying tar remover

Delimoline will most likely work. It is a safe degreaser. After cleaning, it requires the area to be dressed. I use this to remove scuff marks around the bottom plastic interior panels, you should not have a problem with staining since you mentioned all of the items you used with no damage. You can find delimoline at Detail Depot under the name "Solv All".

Yes I just used a rag with the Eagle One & yes I used Smiple Green full strength (it kinda gave the leather a slight green tint but that has gone away) I had not thought about using Tar Remover. If I take the car to a detail shop do you think they can get it removed?

when i have a scuff or stain that just cleaner will not touch i spray some cleaner on the spot and use a white 3m scuff pad gently, i repeat,gently and 99%of the time the marks come out.i have also used an ink eraser to do away with scuff marks from shoes. the jag connelly leather responds very well to lexol cleaner and always treat the leather after cleaning as you don't want the leather to be dry.

If the scuff mark or whatever your cleaning doesnt come off with Solv All alone, agitate it with a utility brush and Solv all, carefull not to press to hard on that leather. You have to dress the areas because they will have a dried out, chalky look, and that look sucks sir. I hope it works for you

Thanks Dan;

your right chalky would "suck" thanks for the info as soon as I get the product I will let you know how it went.

When that doesnt work, I tell the customer, the leather is damaged until it is fixed by a pro. I dont go any more drastic than the delimoline
