<HTML>your favorite and least favorite type of vehicles to work on? You know, the one that makes you smile and say to yourself "This is gonna be a great day!" and the one that makes you look up in the sky and say "Why? I was good last weekend!!"</HTML>

<HTML>Rod ..

F150'S or Ford Taurus ..so easy to clean .

Hummer H2 is least favorite ..got one on the lot here ..real pain in the ass I thought. F250'S/350's that have 100000 plus, white in color, that have been driven through every construction site in the country .

And anything Red ! Just alwasys seems to buff up and polish nice .

<HTML>Fun topic.

My favorite car's to detail are black or darker colors (red too) high end cars, like Mercedes E Series or Audi TTs.

Worst vehicle to detail would be pick up trucks (since they're all ugly and just supposed to be utilitarian - I have a P/U so don't take offense hehe) and VW's (just because of the interiors.) A VW's interior is one I've always had a problem with. Can we say WICK, WICK, WICK! Maybe Bud knows why the carpeting is so bad in these cars. Takes me 30 minutes just to vacuum interior.

ANyone else hate VW interiors?</HTML>

<HTML>I hate vw's interior too. Like the car though. My favorites are reds, white's, and some blacks. Solid black, not metal flake. BMW and Lexus and some Benz are my favorites, hate ANY MINI VAN from the past , present or future. And, will REFUSE a conversion van.</HTML>

<HTML>Ha-ha-ha!!! I agree with you Brian...me least favorite are those Dodge Ram 1500 and up pickups. So many damn, bends & curves and ridges and so very, very big...yuck!!! They can tear up pads faster than you can say" Huh? What the...?"

Favorites are Vettes, Benz, Lincolns & Lexus. I love black for both detailing and painting!!! I've done so much of it that I really enjoy it. Some guys just hate it because it shows everything. Burgundy and maroon metallic turn out great, also!!!</HTML>

<HTML>I don't think trucks are supposed to be clean, hehe. I think that's why they sell that "Spray On Synthetic Dirt" to make people look like they go off-roading. Rugged, utilitarian, manly (arr-arr-arr Tim Allen)

A freshly polished black luxury (or any for that matter) is a sign of true beauty. It shows some imperfections but shows more beauty than anything. Yes, burgundy is also a beautiful color to work with.

This car was done with Auto Magic's New Car Glaze.

<HTML>Brian : Great Photo, did you use the New Car Glaze by hand or machine and did you wax afterwards, if you didn't why not.

Hope this makes sense.

<HTML>Hey Jim,

Is this your garage? If so, we have something in common. That crap you painted your floor with!! hehehe, looks just like mine. I'm up for any suggestions on a good looking floor covering that will withstand the weather and last. I've had it with these so called floor paints that peel off as soon as your car sets overnight on them.

<HTML>John:

I used the New Car Glaze with a 3M waffle final finish pad then gave it a coat of wax with Auto Magic's EZ Paste Wax. Goes on like butter. I used the waffle on the rotary since the paint was in good shape. Just needed a deep polish.</HTML>

<HTML>Hi John:

I also use Auto Magic's GS-1 Color Restorer, basically same as New Car Glaze but a tad more aggressive. I have their XP Compound but only use that for paint scuffs. Still have yet to try the XP polish. Might pick up a gallon next week. And I do have the sealant, works very well, easy to use and comes off easy.

Do you like their Seal-It sealant? I used to use this all the time but use the Paint Sealant now. For boats that are brand new and just need a quick seal and shine I'll use the Seal-It, since it also has a cleaning ingrediant that will remove and black streaks.

The BC-1 and BC-2 is like the VHS to the DVD now hehe. Those are the older compounds and polishes from their beginning line.</HTML>

<HTML>I absolutely hate detailing black Escelades, too many intricate body lines and too many places to miss while wiping. I also hate suburbans, give me an H2 anyday before any suburban!!

H2s are easy! The bodys are so wide open, they are easy to buff, just have to remember to clean the fenderwells really good or else the whole job looks crummy.

My favorite cars to clean are porches, mercedes, bmw, anything german for the most part, and all of the above but no older than 3 years old. I also like to clean these types of cars because this is what I consider to be my target market, cars that are $50,000-$100,000, this is the customer that has some money and wont try to scrounge, you give them quality and they pay you what you ask, within reason of course.</HTML>

<HTML>Jerry..weve painted it twice, and it just doesnt last more than a couple of weeks. We were going to have it done again, but the contractor told us that there was so much dressing etc in the concrete that nothing would stick to it.

It used to be the paint bay mnay years ago , you should have seen it before we painted the walls.

<HTML>Well being new to the site I have to say, "I LIKE IT!". I would have to say that GS-1 is the best all around polish out there. I use it on just about every car I do.

I love to work on any dark color car as long as it's not a Ford, I hate their orange peal. I would have to aggree with "bumpers plus", I hate Mini Vans. Well I'm not sure if its the vehicle or the kids that ride in it.</HTML>

<HTML>Shone...... What type of problem do you have with orange peel on Fords???? In my mobile business I do 7 Ford SUV's .....5 are black sad smiley(( and 1 Taurus every other week and have never had any orange peel problems. They are all relatively new (less than 3 years). In your opinion, what do you think is creating this problem and why? Perhaps it is something I and others should watch for and if found suggest our customers complain to Ford. The only time I have seen problems with orange peel on any auto is when the dealer or a detailer have sealed , waxed or both over paint that was not fully cured. Looking forward to your reply. Take care and Happy Detailing. Ron</HTML>

<HTML>Hey Ron, I don't have a problem with Fords orange peal until one of my customers ask me to make it look like glass..... I got so sick of wet sanding through Fords factory peal I decided to raise the glass look price for them. I do love the amount of clear they put on their cars, but they make them look like you can slice and peal them.</HTML>
