I was reading on glasurit's website about paint defects. It talked about orange peel and the causes of this phenomena. What I dont understand is if this is considered a defect in the finishing process, why does 90% of factory painted cars have this condition?

thank you</HTML>

<HTML>Ferrari is probably the main automotive company with orange peel. A few people said that at a car show, the judges look for orange peel and if it's not present, the person loses points. It is expected on a Ferrari to have orange peel.

Ben, to answer you're question, I would guess it's because a lot of cars are touched up or spot painted at the factories by a human, not the robot. Ferraris are also painted by hand.

Nice talking with you yesterday. Let me know how you made out.</HTML>
