How "Loud" is too "LOUD"!
April 19, 2004 07:12PM
<HTML>I just purchased a generator of 3000 watts. I have been worried if this is to big or even too loud to use in residential areas. Would it be better for me to return it and get something less noisy? I do understand I still need to run the buffer and vac and eventualy the extractor. I need help with this it has realy been bugging me? anything will help.

Thanks guys and gals</HTML>

<HTML>honestly the ammount of watts doesnt tell how loud the unit will be. That will depend on the engine and the muffler system used.

One thing I will point out is you are going to have a VERY hard time running anextractor off a 3000 watt generator. I have a 3500 watt and it barely keeps up. And my extractor is a single cord unit.</HTML>

<HTML>For some reason, the Honda's are quieter than the others I have tried..., Much quieter!!
(this was a few years ago I tested generators, may be different this year???)</HTML>

<HTML>In Jersey, there are no noise restrictions between the hours of 8-9am? to 8-9pm? I just forget which hours they are. Check with your local business development division to find out the timelines.

Ha, you're right Ron! R2's arch nemesis.</HTML>
