Association update

<HTML>Here is a press release we just sent out .

The Professional Detail Technicians Association is pleased to announce that the Department of Automotive Technology at The Southern University of Illinois Carbondale will be assisting the association in its technical development. In a recent on-line survey through it's web site, many detailers said they would like the association to act as a resource for quality information such as the Technical Service Bulletins that dealers receive from the OEM's.

"We have already begun work on several "Technical Service Information" sheets on several issues for our members, from dealing with simple issues like cleaning the touch screens that we see in many vehicles today, and even more complex issues such as how to avoid damaging OCS (Occupant Classification Sensors) that are installed in many new vehicles these days, which could be damaged if correct cleaning procedures are not followed. We are also working with several detailers and suppliers to get the most accurate information we can out to our members. Having the Department of Automotive Technology help us will be a huge boost, as we will have access to first class information, and some of the finest upcoming talent in the industry " said a spokesman for the PDTA.

"As a large university Automotive Technology program we have a very unique situation with automotive manufactures. A large portion of our students go to work up in Detroit or California and work for an automotive manufacture in a variety of positions such as writing service manuals, validating service procedures, or writing programs for OEM diagnostic equipment. Because of this, our support from OEM manufactures is great. We currently posses approximately 80 new donated vehicles from OEMs." Added Keith Reinhardt, one of seven full time instructors at the University.

<HTML>That is great, Jim!

There are many vocational technical schools as well, who are affiliated with I-CAR and offer their training courses at their schools.

We work with any voc-tech school system, who request our services, free of charge.

It only is right, since our firm's main customers are the OEM's and anything we do to aid our customers is in our best interest.

The same goes for any one in the detailing industry.

Do it right or don't do it all!

<HTML>Thanks Ron, it is a win win situation.

The professors in the department have to show the University that they share information with their peers in the industry, and help develop it, so they were only to happy to help us out. It is great for us and them.
