Paint job

<HTML>My wife while backing up scraped another car. The other car had a 6 inch long paint scratch on the rear quarter panel( passenger side). Please let us know if this can be easily repaintable or buffed. Any estimates on how much it would cost me. We do not want to go through our insurance.</HTML>

<HTML>Depending on the depth of the scratch it may be successfully removed or minimized by buffing. If it is deep it will have to be repainted.

Price for buffing or painting can only be determined by a visual inspection of the vehicle by a professional auto detailer or autobody person.

The age, color, vintage , make of vehicle and owner will determine what type of painting and cost. In other words if the vehicle is an old clunker daily driver Maaco or similar type body shop will be adequate for most owners.

If the vehicle is a classic, or newer high end vehicle that owner may want the best autobody painting available to maintain the value of their vehicle… so it may be prudent to have your insurance involved.

Remember the aggrieved party is under no obligation to give you 3 estimates unless it is required by law. They have the right to take the vehicle to the repair facility of their choice not necessarily the cheapest</HTML>
