<HTML>Frederico posted about doing a detailing job for an insurance company. Was wondering what one must do to be an authorized facility for insurance work.

Any ideas?</HTML>

<HTML>Why dosent ALL the insurance companies cover detailing expenses for the owner like the the auto-body refinishing industry.....if detailing was covered by insurance and available to most owners at a reasonable rate....everybody with full-coverage auto-insurance would have their vehicles repaired(detailed) from the enviromental damage caused to their vehicle to maintain the value.

Imagine if wrecked your new car...and insurance was'nt available to cover the expenses of the damage(paint refinishing,bodywork,etc...).....most could'nt afford to pay the high-cost of auto-body damage repairs out of their pocket....and could'nt afford to maintain the value of their vehicle.

Nobody cares how much it cost to repair damages to it,because it's covered by insurance....that's why the auto-body shops can charge such high-prices today...because all new vehicles are required to be fully-covered by insurance (if money is borrowed from a bank).

Maybee we in the detailing industry should hire lobbist to go to Washington and to lobby for changes in the insurance industry to cover Auto-DETAILING damage repair as well as Auto-BODY damage repair !

What do you think?

You customers need Auto-Detailing to be done to their car....they just get three estimates from detail shops...and turn them into your insurance company.....and its paid for by their insurance company!

Sounds great to me !</HTML>

<HTML>Many insurance companies will pay for detailing services for damages to a vehicle as a result of an accident. (paint overspray, dent removal, windshield repair, water intrusion, odor removal, scratches from snow removal or improper washing, environmental damage -rail dust - etc.

We do this all the time but prefer to represent the client and not the insurance company. What most people do not know is that they are not required by law unless they have signed a waiver to get 3 estimates to satisfy any insurance company. It is the right of the insured to choose the facility of his choice to do the repair and the insurance company will pay for the cost of the repair if it is within the range of excellent auto repair refinishing charges or lower.

If the service you will provide is specialized such as water intrusion, odor removal they oftentimes do not have any established rates so you can charge regular shop rates.

Arm your client with information on how to get their insurance to pay and most times the job is yours.</HTML>
