Boat Detailing Manual

<HTML>I have very good news and some bad news.

The good news is my boat detailing manual (everything you need to know about boat detailing) will be for sale very very shortly and will be posting it on the Mobileworks Manual page.

Price should be around $69.99 and comes with consultation if a problem should arise (but the manual will cover all)

The bad news is the DVD was a no-go. Footage was great but quality (clarity and color) wasn't so good when transferred. Looks like I'll need a higher quality camcorder so when transferring is done, the quality will be excellent. But the footage from camera to screen connection is great.

But I'd like to get a vote in who would be interested and if $69.9 is a reasonable price. Will come with photos, marketing & advertising materials, recommended price list, etc.

So check Mobileworks' manual page in the near future. Will check with Paul (Webmaster) to see how much advertising is.</HTML>

<HTML>I'm also very interested, Brian. I'm anxious to push into this market a bit more aggressively, but I'd like a little more know-how, both with the detailing and the pricing/marketing side of it. It seems as if your manual will do both!! For $69.99, I'd call that a bargain!!</HTML>

<HTML>Brian,

Nice to see that this thing is taking off in the way your wanting it to. I have a few questions about the video....

Q. How are you getting the video from Cam to computer?

Q. What kind of Cam are you using?

Q. When playing video back from cam to TV, does it sound/look ok?

Q. Have you tried compressing the video into different formats?

Q. Are you doing the video or having someone do it for you?

There are many different aspects to video editing and want to make sure you covered most of them before you toss it all out the window. Please reply so I can get a little more info on how your going about doing this and might be able to help...

If you have to, you can also email at soloconn @ yahoo . com.
(But it all together.... I do it this way to help stop spam bots)

Thanks and good luck!</HTML>

<HTML>Brian,

As you probably already know, I have also written a Boat Detailing Guide. Although my guide is aimed basically at boat owners who want to learn more about how-to clean, polish and wax their own boat, it's good to see someone filling the needs of the professional detailer. Keep up the good work!

Here's a summary of what's included in my Boat Detailing Guide for beginner and intermediate detailers.

CHAPTER 1 - HOW-TO DETAIL
This chapter provides an understanding of how-to safely clean, polish and wax your own boat. It will help you gain valuable detailing knowledge.

CHAPTER 2 - DETAILING SUPPLIES
This chapter provides an outline of the supplies needed to clean, polish and wax your boat.

CHAPTER 3 - DETAILING PRODUCTS
This chapter provides everything you need to know about the cleaners, polishes, waxes and protectants needed to safely detail your boat.

CHAPTER 4 - WHAT-TO DETAIL
This chapter provides valuable information needed to understand what's included in a complete boat detailing. It will help identify what gets cleaned, polished, waxed and protected.

<HTML>Brian,

Have you applied for a copyright?</HTML>

Re: Boat Detailing Manual

<HTML>Hi Frank,

Thanks for reminding me! Copyright applications are $15 right? Wouldn't want someone stealing my info.

I have a last minute insertion I'm adding. For detailers working on the docks, I took pictures of how to safely and properly tie a boat's rope on a cleat. Illustrates perfectly and is pretty fool-proof.</HTML>

<HTML>Brian,

Here's the address for the US Library of Congress Copyright Office website:

Also, the fee is $30 and you can expect it to take about a year to get approval of your copyright. Personally, I would only offer your manual for sale after you receive your copyright.</HTML>

<HTML>Brian, I want a copy, and please, laminate the pages,as most fledglings like myself may have the book to review near the job so if it gets wet there will be no harm done to the Tech Manual. Yes, I know it will be added expense, but I would rateher pay the extra to have the protection. Just a thought Brandy !</HTML>

<HTML>Thanks for the info Frank -- will look into this ASAP. I'm sure it's sooner than a year -- look at photographers taking pictures and their work is immediately protected and publicly displayed. But I do trust my fellow detailers.

Eric, thats a great suggestion - will look into that as well!</HTML>
