I use a degreaser from costco. The ingredients state surfacants, grease cutting agents, alkaline salts and fragrence. Can someone explain these ingredients to me?

<HTML> Ben : I've read that surfactants break contaminants loose from surfaces, grease cutting agents somehow liquify grease , alkali chemically damages or breaks down substances and fragrance is added to make the product smell good.
Now I will climb into my fox hole any hunker down for the inevitable corrections from Bud and Ketch.
