<HTML>Jim...

Is the detailers association acting as an agent in this activity? If so, does the group have a benchmark for their services and a pricing matrix from which to coordinate uniform coverage... so the left hand knows what the right hand is doing?

If it is a structured program, you probably know that you can source FREE products for use on the display vehicles. If you need any help in that behalf, I'd be happy to assist in whatever way I can.

<HTML>Steve , no we are not acting as an agent with this. This company contacted us and asked for a list of members that might be looking for this kind of work . We will simply complile the list and then pass that on, any financial arrangements will be strictly between the individual member and the company involved.

I know I promised to call you when we spoke at MobileTech, I will try and give you a call this week !

<HTML>From what I know, there are not that many really "national" companies that do this work.

A lot of "wanta-be's" out there.

Is the request coming from National Detailers, out of Knoxville area?

Not a bad company, however, I must offer a warning, for depending on the city in which a "show" is being held, there are often serious issues with the local unions, which may or may not affect what the hired "subcontacter detailers" may be able to do.

<HTML>Well, I'm interested, but not for the classic "fingerprint removal" work.

<HTML>Unsure of the politics, I absolutely do not want to step on toes or compromise anyone, because I truly value the friendships I've developed over the years.

My comment was intended to offer some advice.

It would seem a potential member benefit of the organization if it became a clearinghouse of sorts, and developed a benchmark for both members and potential end-users within the auto show and event network.

The automotive OEM has events staff that often deals with this issue, and they are most reluctant to take "leaps of faith" that fail to offer the levels of service required. It would seem palatable for all of those OEM... and even regional events planners... to have an intelligent alternative to leafing through the local yellow pages and risking disappointment.

As Ron can attest, the bureaucracy within the automotive OEM rivals many parts of the government (albiet, without the safeguards), so having a genuine detailer Association to act as a matchmaker might prove inviting.

The detail product manufacturers would also be delighted to assist in supplying complimentary products, materials, supplies and event training to a network of "Certified Appearance-Care Spcialists", and the independent status of the association would position the service as being unbiased in it's choices of both product and process usage.

The Association would have a robust tool to enhance its overall identity and image, and the automotive OEM would take instant comfort in getting a monkey off its back... all in one fell swoop. The product choices would be a prized sourcing that would be offered exclusively to member products makers, thus creating a value synergy within.

I'd be happy to assist, if asked.

Just a few well-intentioned thoughts...
