<HTML>I still have a bunch of the poorboys products. I put up an offer on Autopia.org that the highest offer to make a donation to www.WorldVision.com by this Sunday get all of it. If the offer is more than $250 I will pay shipping cost otherwise you will need to come pick it up or pay shipping.

I am offering this here as well (actually this offer was banned on Autopia and I was suspended, I have since requested my username and account to that forum be deleted to protest their decision)

Not a cent goes into my pocket!!

So there it is, get it and help some needy childern as well.</HTML>

<HTML>Joe your running out of places to post , the sad thing is the other members loose from you not posting. So many forums have ran off the Pro detailer's , yeah some deserved it but for the most part it's over BS . Your post over on Autopia was meant to help out those poor boys and girls around the world suffering . Seriously some people need to go visit the wizard an ask for a heart.

<HTML>I have always thought of Autopia as a silly place.

I like the idea of enthusiast forums because they educate the general public about the work we do. But when you get a load of competitive enthusiasts, and part time detailers together in one place... the whole thing becomes a pi55ing contest.

I have creating a forum on my 'things to do' list, but I have pretty much resigned myself to the fact that they always become a contest that end up with factions and clicks. Frankly, I haven't time to get involved in the popularity contest on other people's forums let alone my own right now.
I'm not moaning about all the arguments... I think that its actually good for forums, the longest and most interesting threads are usually dues to differences of opinion.

</td>
</tr>
</table>

I have actually put a great deal of thought into this idea - not just what CMS of Forum software to use, but also about the nature of the forum and how to attract members once you have decided what kind of members you want. (also how to make it work to benefit my company and any company I have an alliance with).
Once you get into it, you can easily end up with more questions than answers!

One thing that I don't quite get, is why so many forums discourage the commercialism of the forums, when it can actually work in the forum's favour. All you need to do is have a section where detailers can advertize their services, and thier web sites, and another section where people can advertze their products... although the latter may need to be vetted by the moderators.</HTML>

<HTML>The Mobile Works and especially the PDTA forums are "professional', but a few of the "flakes" wander in from time to time, asking questions.

Hell, I am banned from almost every of the "enthusist" forums, due to my tendency to provide real information, which makes the "boutique products' be seen as they should be, just a fancy marketing plan and WOW packaging, etc.

<HTML>While I'm not allowed to state an opinion on any product on a public forum, I do know that those sites people get banned from are enthusiasts sites for inner circles of, what Ron would call, bathtubbers. The enthusiasts get all hyped up about the shine their "wax" did for them. Little do they knwo it was the polish and not the wax but the polish had the word "wax" in part of the name.

Anyway, this subject about enthusiasts sites vs. professional sites has been beated to death.</HTML>

<HTML>Without getting into a heated discussion, all I'll say that there's always two sides to a story and the truth typically falls somewhere in the middle.

Why there is disdain for those who frequent the types of sites mentioned here is beyond me. If it has to boil down simply to pros having their own clique and non pros having theirs, so be it.

Somewhere along the way, the common denominator, the love of meticulous cars, seems to be ignored and left on the side lines. It's a shame personal matters have to erupt from this.

Happy detailing and Happy Holidays.</HTML>

<HTML>The Poorboys stuff is gone.

Someone took it all for $100.

Man that stuff was hard to get rid of! It almost made the "round file".</HTML>
