Restore Headlights

Do the products they offer for restoring headlights actually work? I'm looking to buy a kit but not sure if it's a good idea. If the kit does work which one is the best?

Go to the DETAIL PLUS site on www.mobileworks.com and you will find a headlight restoration process that involves items you already have or can buy at a local parts store.

You do not need a special kit, the are nothing but an accumulation of items you have used in a different way.

I agree with Bud, we even put up the process on our site, using standard products, www.autoint.com has it.

It is more a matter of "doing the job right, following directions" than some magic or miracle products.

JonJoy 20,
Here's what I do and it works: 1) Wet sand with 600 grit until lens is white, 1000 grit, 2000 grit.
2) Compound with Meguiar's #1 Medium Cut Cleaner.
3) Meguiar's plastic cleaner.
4) Mother's plastic polish.

I tried out a kit from NicSand that connects to an electric drill but found the polish way too fine to get results.
