Tire dressing spilled on carpet

I just bought a new VW Rabbit only to find that the dealer spilled tire dressing all over the carpet in front of the back seat. Needless to say, I'm not very happy about this.

They tried shampooing the carpet to get it out, but I can still feel an oily residue. They are now saying that they'll steam clean it for me. Will this get rid of it all or should I try to make them replace the carpet? I checked and it does not appear that the tire dressing managed to soak all the way through.

Thanks!

If they use an extractor, properly, that should take care of your concern.

If a extractor doesent work, then try a dry cleaning solvent.

All good ideas . I want to add that if you can find out the specific dressing that was spilled, you might be able to call the maker and ask what will dissolve it . If you could tell us the ingredients in the dressing, even the amateur chemists on this forum might be able to pinpoint a solvent that will work .
