Bud has asked a great question? What is an acrylic, and why is it important?
To answer this I think you have to ask what is a clear coat?
The paint used for a clear coat is called Acrylic Poly UV Plus. It is low yellowing, high gloss, and tough physically and chemically.
Paints have what are called 'micro pores' which are like human skin. They are basically ways that things like road grime, salt, and other things can travel into the paint and break it down.
It is important that this fine layer on the top of the clear coat be protected.
Waxes and synthetic waxes do not seal the micro pores.Bad things can be trapped
under the coating and slowly work into the paint.
Using an abrasive in the form of a compound, swirl remover,or polish can wear
the clear down and force bad things into the pores,
If the pores of the clear coat can be protected that is the secret to maintaining
the durability and qualities of the paint.
Then why is an acrylic sealant is the answer IMO.The main reason is because it
protects the micro pores of the paint, and allows you to use a soap that will keep
the surface clean. It maintains the qualities of the paint for years by preserving
that important top layer of paint.
How does it do that? Because by applying a new coat every year,it blocks the
bad things and restores the deep shine. Will a poly sealant do the same thing?
Yes, but not in the way an acrylic will.
In conclusion, what is an acrylic anyways. It is basically a plastic that can be formulated into things like paint to improve it's qualities for shine, durability, and protection.
Both are actually polymeric in their chemistry.

Grumpy2

You are right they both consist of polymers.Although, Blackfire Wet Diamond with a polycharger forces the molecules tighter to form a temporary barrier, but it does
not adhere to the clear coat like any acrylic will.

I gather you are referring to a cataonic bond?

If you are referring to cross linking.Yes

From what I have read about what a polycharger does is that it is a additive which
is added to a water or solvent wax based products. It forces the molecule together
or cross linking them together to form a mess.
I am not sure if that is really a total barrier? There are gaps in the mess.

Sounds like an emulsifer.
Some petroluem distillates will work to a point, makes it aerobic cure a bit quicker.
