65 GTO

just inherited a 65 GTO think the motor is wrong, has a yc code on the block it is a 389 4 bb. Can anyone give me their thoughts? It is nicely equipped, convertible, power top, air, ps, pb rally gadges in very nice shape, how much will it detract from the price if its not #'s matching? Thanks any help is appreciated as it really seems like a nice car but I know little about the engine deal. Thanks

According to the engine manual for the '65 goat the "YS" engine code is correct for the 389 4 barrel with automatic transmission. The "WT" code is for the 4 barrel with manual transmission. Hopes this helps. The value is always lowered somewhat by an engine swap but it sounds like you have a great car anyway.
