fuel gauge problems

I just replaced the fuel sending unit in my 1964 gto, with the original fuel tank, with a unit from Year One. With a full tank of gas it only read 3/4 full. I put another gas gauge that I had in and got the same 3/4 full reading. I don't know what else to try. Any help would be appreciated.

you have to adjust it like a toilet bowl
take the float and bend it oh so slightly i did it to my 68 had the same problem, hope this helps you you can also check wires with a dwel meter to make sure no bad connection or falty or bare wire would also do the same thing,,
